We have conducted an Admission cum Awareness meet for the differently-abled candidates at our Polytechnic College on 06.06.2016. Fifteen differently abled candidates along with their parents attended the meet. Mr. A. Sathyamoorthy, Managing Director, Techno print, Sivakasi and Chairman, Advisory Committee of PWD Project and Mr. C. Shanmugaraj, District Project Manager, Puthuvazhvu Thittam, Virudhunagar were the Chief Guests for the Programme.

Mr. A. Sathyamoorthy motivated the students by his inspiring speech by quoting successful persons with disabilities. Mr. M. Nandakumar. Principal narrated the benefits extended and the service rendered by the polytechnic college for Educating and Uplifting of the differently abled through the Persons With Disabilities project, sponsored by MHRD, Govt. of India, NewDelhi and also highlighted the involvement of our District Collector in the benefits to reach the needy differently abled candidates. The beneficiaries are identified by the Puthuvazhvu Thittam. Mr. S. Kesavan, Past President of Lions Club of Sivakasi has also graced the function and come forward to help the needy students by sponsorship.

The District Project Manager of Puthuvazhvu Thittam Mr. Shanmugaraj promised to extend all the possible support in identifying the differently abled candidates in our District.   Mr. M. Pugazh, Project Champion, informed the candidates about the benefits extended the differently- abled candidates. Mr. A, Vijayakumar of Human Resource Foundation has come forward to offer counselling to the candidates. Mr. A. Venkateshboopathy Department Coordinator of PWD Project proposed vote of thanks. Finally we have selected 10 eligible differently abled candidates to be admitted in 3 year Diploma programmes.
