National Service Scheme

A Guest Lecture programme was organized on “Renewable Energy Sources” on 30/08/2016 at DH3. Dr.N.Jeyakumaran, Professor, V.H.N.S.N College, Virudhunagar was the Guest speaker. III year EEE students, II year ECE students and III year Civil Engineering students attended the meeting.

The meeting was started with prayer. Selvan.A.Vimalathithan, Volunteer welcomed the gathering. Mr.S.Balakrishnan, HOD/ ECE delivered the presidential address. 

The Guest speaker described the Non Renewable fuels – oil, coal, wood, petrol, diesel etc and the Renewable energy sources – solar, wind, tidal, ocean etc with power point presentation. He pointed out the depletion of Fossil fuels and about Global warming due to emission of carbon dioxide from fossil fuels. The speaker explained the solar light energy, Solar thermal  energy and Wind energy which are available plenty in India. He asked everyone must use solar panel in all homes, colleges, commercial and public places and generate electrical energy for their use. Solar water heater is to be installed in all places where hot water is necessary.

Selvan.G. Pandiyarajan, II year ECE proposed the vote of thanks. The meeting was very useful to the students in updating their knowledge.
