Staff Development Managers’ Workshop

CIICP unit of Arasan Ganesan Polytechinc College, Sivakasi organized a Staff Development Mangers’ Workshop I for Phase 17 Replication Polytechnics under Canada India Institutional Cooperation Project sponsored by SPCU, Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai from 05-01-2017 to 07-01-2017. Mr.M.Nandakumar, Principal of Arasan Ganesan Polytechnic College welcomed the gathering. Dr.B.G.Barki, Former Director, NITTTR, Chennai inaugurated the workshop. In his address, he stressed that faculty place a major role in the development of any institution. A competent teacher should maintain his/her firm to meet the challenges confidently. The concept of “EACH ONE TEACH ONE” is also rightly pointed out by him. Shri S.K.A.Somaraj, H.O.D / T & D, Murugappa Polytechnic College, Chennai and State Facilitator briefed about the CIICP Project and about the workshop. He insisted that teachers should continuously update their knowledge and expand their skills. A self assessment helps the teachers to become reflective teacher. The main focus of the programme is based on two themes namely “Roles of Staff Development Managers” and “Instructional skills”. Experienced stalwarts like Dr.B.G.Barki, Former Director, NITTTR,Chennai, Thiru.S.K.A.Somaraj, H.O.D./Tool & Die Making, Murugappa Polytechnic College, Chennai and Mr.M.Nandakumar, Principal , AGPC, Sivakasi are the resource persons for the programme.16 participants from as many as 13 CIICP polytechnics from places like Chennai, Permbalur, kilakarai, Tiruchengode, Gudiyatham, Madurai and Aruppukottai have participated in the workshop.
